Twitter Charity Run

The #TwitterCharityRun Results page is now up – please enter your results here!!

For the past 17 years I have been involved in organizing a Run/Fun Walk benefiting our local Hospice (  We have raised over $500,000 for this incredible organization.  Recently, I have participated in two “Virtual Races” The Twitter Road Race put on by Doug over at I run because and an earlier event put on by Stephanie and friends over at Run for Fun.  I loved the thought of fellow runners participating in these global events and really enjoyed participating in both.  So I decided to put together charity and the virtual run and create the Twitter Charity Run.

Twitter Charity Run

Tweet – Give – Run – Join us between April 13th and 15th for this fun/virtual run and support your favorite charity at the same time. The idea – Take the amount you would normally pay for a race registration and give that amount (or a different amount) to a charity of your choice. It is a win/win! You get to run a fun virtual event with people all over the world and you can support your favorite charity at the same time.

Many of us will be running events that weekend and that counts!  The key is taking the extra step to support a charity of your choice.

When – April 13th thru April 15th 2012

Where – Everywhere – Click here to see where in the world we will be running!

Entry Fee – Please make a donation to a charity of your choice

How do I Register – Please sign up here to participate.  After the event is over we will have another form for you to fill out with your run and charity results.

Thank you for joining us – Your Cause – Your Event – You can make a difference!  If you have questions or need additional info contact us at

  1. I’m bummed that there aren’t any events on the west coast. How can’t start an event in San Diego?

    • Hi Stephanie – This is a virtual event and is taking place everywhere – Would be great if you could help spread the word in Sand Diego – we need some West Coast representation :)!!

  2. I’m currently a part of the BeeWell For Life program hosted by Bumble Bee. For every mile logged, they donate $.30 to the charity of your choice: American Diabetes Association, WomenHeart, Y-ME Narional Vreast Cancer Organization, or all three (your choice). Would that fulfill the donation requirement for #twittercharityrun?

I’ve raised over $30 so far this year by logging my miles (new to running). I’d love to get involved with #twitterforcharity because I’m big on giving back but would like to tie in what I’m currently doing with BeeWell For Life.

  3. Love it! I will be running for @myteamtriumphwi!

  4. Thanks so much for participating – We appreciate your support and participation
