Jeff’s Post – Year in Review #5 –Jungle Jims!

In June Tamara and I went to Delaware to celebrate my 40th birthday.  What did I want to do on my birthday? – Run!  So a few days before we left I saw that there would be a 5k near our hotel.  We signed up and we both took home a trophy!

Another great memory! – Tamara and I both posted here and here

Have a great day and Happy Running!

Jeff’s Post – Year in Review #3 – Let’s Rock Virginia Beach!

In September Tamara and I rocked Virginia Beach at the Rock N Roll Virginia Beach ½ Marathon.  This was my first official ½ Marathon and my first Rock N Roll event.  We had an amazing time and this race ranks as one of my favorites all year.

Tamara and I both wrote recaps – you can find them here and here.

Jeff’s Post – Tamara and the Tree :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday!  Tamara and I had a great couple of days with friends and family.  I took a few days off from running and couldn’t wait to get back out there today. I ran 6.2 miles and it actually went pretty well considering all of the food abuse I have been putting my body through!  Tamara is out for her run and I had to snap a picture of her in front of the tree before she left – The tree and Tamara so beautiful!

Have a great day!

Tamara heading out for a run!

Jeff’s Post – A Virtual 10k and a PR!

This morning I ran my fastest 10k ever – on the treadmill!  I realize this won’t go down in the official record books but I will take it as I start tracking my treadmill PR’s in a separate category.  Many things motivate me when I’m on the treadmill.  Today, I was motivated by “The Home for the Holidays Virtual 10k” put together by a few fellow bloggers.  There were no cheering crowds, no water stops and no medals- Just the satisfaction of knowing that many others would be running “virtually” along with me.  Thanks for the extra motivation!!

Have a great day and go for a run if you get a chance!

Jeff’s Post – Year in Review #2 – Hello New Jersey!

Tamara and I spent Memorial Day weekend in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.  We had a great trip and did lots of running!

We wrote a few posts while we were there – you can find them here and here and here.

Have a great day!

Jeff’s Post – Year in Review #1 – The Great Urban Race!

Tamara and I have done sooo much this year.  Over the next few weeks I wanted to share a few pics and related posts of some of the fun we have had.

Enjoy and thanks for visiting our blog!

First up – The Great Urban Race!

Jeff’s Post – Nice Pace!

For a very long time I have been posting a picture of my almost daily treadmill runs on facebook.  I know some find it annoying (they can choose not to be my facebook friend) but I find it motivating and I find that it keeps me honest.  I have also heard from many others that it motivates them, which I love.  I typically start the treadmill and walk for first ¼ mile to get warmed up and then I also walk at the end for a very short distance so if you look at my times they look a bit slow.  This week I decided to change that.  Now I do a short ¼ mile walk to warm up and then reset the treadmill and start off at my running pace.  Yesterday, Tamara made a comment on my 6 mile run (nice pace).  It wasn’t super speedy but I loved that she made that comment which brought me to this morning.  I wanted to blow yesterday’s pace out of the water and I did – knocking over 3 minutes off my time from yesterday – BAM!

Thanks Tamara for the motivation and for pushing me past average!!

Have a great day and go for a run if you get a chance!

Today's Run - Over 3 minutes faster than yesterday!
