Jeff’s Post – Strip at Night!

Tamara and I are three days away from the Rock and Roll Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon.   I’m excited that we will finally be running a race together again.  Tamara has been chasing me around for the last few months while I was getting my marathon fix so it will be nice to have us at the starting line together once again.  I already know how the first 3 or 4 miles will go – Tamara will be darting in and out of runner traffic like the frog in the frogger game.  I love how she starts races (I also remember telling her at the VA Beach 1/2 that she was “killing me” with all of the darting back and forth) but deep down I enjoy it!  This will be the first night race I have ever done  (and I live on the East Coast so it will also be about my bed time) so I’m still trying to think through the whole eating/sleeping thing.  I’m not 100% sure how my body will react since I do all my running in the am but this is my last major race of the year and I’m going to push it a bit.  If anyone has advice on night racing please share!

6 strong treadmill miles this morning.  I plan on another 3 miles tomorrow and then will be off until the race.
