A Rare Day Off – A Good Quote – A Last Look Back!

My legs are still tired so I have decided to take a rare day off.  I don’t like taking days off but I’m also trying to listen to my body and give it a break when it is screaming for a break!  I would also like to get some long runs in over the weekend so I’m thinking the rest today would be a good thing.

Why are my legs tired?  They are still tired from my 1/2 marathon.  I feel like I’ve talked about this enough and it will by my last look back.  I ran the marathon at a quicker pace than my training runs and I didn’t take any days off until today.  I was really happy with my time and it is a great baseline to improve going forward.  I definitely want to get to a 1:30 ish finish.  I have pasted my splits below.

Tamara sent me a quote last night that she saw on Facebook – I love it and thought I would share.  I have had many changes in my life in the last year or so and finding the joy of running has been one that I’m so thankful for – Nobody said it’d be easy – They just promised it would be worth it!

Life is to short to wake up in the morning with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Forget the ones who don’t.
And believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance, take it.
… If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said it’d be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it

Have a good day – Go for a run if you get a chance and take a day off if you feel you need it.
